Veterans Empowering Veterans:
A Veteran-Built Map for VA Benefits in 2026

This isn't just a website. It's a veteran-built map — built by a US Army Veteran and IT professional who applies IT strategic alignment and project management to the veteran benefits ecosystem. One mission: make sure no one gets left behind in the bureaucracy.

The Buddy System
Never Expires

When we served, some of the most valuable information didn't come from a manual — it came from a buddy in the motor pool, a senior NCO who had seen it all, or a mentor who had been there before.

We looked out for each other then. We shared intel. We made sure no one got left behind or lost in the bureaucracy. That was the backbone of unit cohesion — and it made us stronger.

That tradition shouldn't end just because we hung up the uniform. VetBenefitsGuide.org is our way of continuing that mission. We apply the same IT strategic alignment and project management discipline we used in uniform to build a clear, tactical map through the VA benefits landscape.

"The best advice I got in the Army came from someone who took me aside and said, 'Hey, I just found out... I thought you should know.' That's what this site is — a buddy pulling you aside."

Mark

US Army Veteran | Founder

I'm Mark, a US Army Veteran and IT professional. Like many of you, I'm still learning the nuances of our earned benefits every single day.

When I started navigating the VA system after my service, I quickly realized how overwhelming it could be. Forms, websites, phone numbers, deadlines — the bureaucracy can feel like another language entirely. But I also realized something else: the same IT strategic alignment and project management frameworks I used in the Army and throughout my civilian IT career could be applied to this space.

This website applies those frameworks to the veteran benefits ecosystem. Think of it as a veteran-built map — tactical clarity for a system that was never designed to be navigated alone. Every guide, every calculator, every "hey, here's what I learned" on this site is me paying it forward, making sure the intel gets shared with the community instead of lost in someone's inbox.

Our Core Principles

The values that guide every guide, calculator, and recommendation on this veteran-built map.

01

Clarity

No jargon. No runaround. Just clear, accurate information you can actually use.

02

Accuracy

We verify every form number, every deadline, every rule. Your benefits are too important for guesswork.

03

Stewardship

These benefits were earned through sacrifice. We treat them—and your trust—with respect.

04

Community

This isn't charity—it's buddy care. We give back because that's what we do. The brotherhood doesn't end at discharge.

Not Official Government Advice

VetBenefitsGuide is an independent resource created by veterans for veterans. While we strive for accuracy, always verify critical information directly with the VA or a qualified Veterans Service Officer (VSO). Laws and programs change—We'll do our best to keep up, but you should always double-check.
